New Year’s donation

As of 2008, Vip’s choice is to donate Serbian children without parental care and children with special needs instead of handing out corporate New Year’s gifts to its business partners and employees.

In 2008, the New Year’s donation worth EUR 50.000 was delivered to six centres for children without parental care in Negotin, Krusevac, Banja Koviljaca, Aleksinac, Cuprija and Kragujevac last year. Monetary donation was followed by one thousand New Year’s presents prepared by our employees and by organized excursion to Belgrade for 250 children and their mentors. Vip employees proved their dedication and care for our youngest by hosting our guests during thevisit to the city center and Ada Ciganlija lake. The Serbian Ministry of Labor and Social Policy actively supported this initiative.

In 2009, Vip donated EUR 40.000 for the purchase of three sensory rooms to special institutions in Belgrade, Sombor and Jagodina, in cooperation with the People’s Office of the President of the Republic. Vip customers also joined the initiative by sending SMS to the short code number 1003. This way, additional 7.600 EUR were collected which were used for the purchase of the forth sensory room in Novi Sad.

In 2010, Vip mobile donated EUR 27.000 for purchase of audible traffic lights for blind and visually impaired people that enable independent movement on the streets in Čačak, Valjevo, Kragujevac, Niš, Zrenjanin, Pančevo, Šabac and Uzice, as well as acquisition of “Daisy player” devices for pupils in a special school “Veljko Ramadanović” in Zemun and talented high-school pupils and students with impaired vision all over Serbia. These devices have the possibility of playing and recording material in MP3 and daisy formats and reading text formats, which enables blind persons to read books.
 
Financial means are collected by redirecting part of the income gained by SMS traffic for New Year’s Eve to humanitarian causes, as well as with support of Vip customers who sent their humanitarian SMS to number 2001. Project is implemented under auspices of the People’s Office of the President of the Republic and the Ministry of Work and Social Policy.

Supporting various social groups

Vip is very active in providing donations and support to many social groups in Serbia through unsolicited or joint activities. Vip joined UNICEF, Caritas and other humanitarian organizations in special programs that are aimed to collect financial resources for people in need. The company also supports numerous humanitarian SMS campaigns by waiving its turnover gained from SMS messages traffic.

Donation to the Belgrade University of Arts

Vip donated EUR 10,000 for equipping and furnishing the Polymedia arts of Interdisciplinary studies cabinet to the Belgrade University of Arts. Donation included the latest computer hardware and software, which will enable students to explore synthesized art practices and additionally develop their creative potentials. Our successful cooperation with the young designer, Slavna Martinovic directly influenced our decision to make this donation as she has built successful international career and is now perfecting her knowledge by completing Master Studies at the Group for Polymedia Arts.
